A widespread disrespect for art in general...

TAKEN FROM RICHARD PEACOCK'S FACEBOOK POST:  I think it's safe to say, we all respect, understand and sympathize with photographers around the world on their trials and tribulations they endure each gig a bit more thoroughly at this point! I can't imaging throwing into the equation an unruly and disrespectful client. Not to mention your art form being belittled and diminished or cheapened by such a response! It is comparable to someone purchasing a work of art directly from the artist, and instead of praising the artist for such a beautiful work of art and his or her vision; at that point asking them why their painting or sculpture is so damn expensive? And would they consider trading it for a loaf of bread? Where are we going to here people? Soon there will be a lack of true art! It really is a true statement "The starving artist", and an artist is never truly appreciated until death. Sad.

A friend of mine posted a link yesterday, where the below article came from a photographer who felt insulted by a recent posting in a local online classified ad from a client searching for a photographer for a wedding, below is the offended photographer's response:  http://www.petapixel.com/2012/01/26/why-wedding-photographers-prices-are-wack/

Enjoy!  -R
