Christopher replied to some of my thoughts this morning on the above mentioned site... here is my reply to him.
Hi Christopher, Thank you for your reply... I understand EXACTLY what you are saying and your mind set, here is how I gauge what I believe to be true. It is very basic, this one won't be a long windy answer. I use logic, history, what most religions believe to be true as well as the most important rule of thumb to myself, I follow my own heart and what I feel to be correct. We are born with a basic knowledge, sense or feeling of right from wrong and I don't get tied up with all the muddle in-between and along the way. Another huge factor would have to be FAITH, and the faith that we were created by something greater than anyone or anything we could possibly fathom. Obviously I try not to judge anyone, and that is just one way I try to keep myself from falling into that same old hypocritical Christian genre. As for God being a vengeful God and experimenting with our lives etc... I believe that God created ALL, I also believe that God gave ALL their own free will and that he does not interfere with life in general. I believe that there is GREAT evil in this world and there exists evil in EVERYONE deep down, it is just a part of being human with emotions, however, I also believe that most everything that happens in our lives is by circumstance and coincidence not because there is a God up there somewhere toying with our lives and emotions. I believe we are here for reasons beyond anyone’s comprehension and that most go thru life with their eyes tightly shut to what they are should be doing with their very short life here on earth. I believe this life is somewhat of a test or experiment, something we should all grab a hold of and do what we can to make it better while we are here. I believe that in the end all we have is our character, our soul. And what we have done here as God’s children we should be proud of, we are NOT to be perfect! Just honest & real. Okay, enough for now. Keep in touch Christopher. And I am sorry, but I have to say it… may God bless you my brother. I am not a saint by any means nor do I feel I am absolutely correct in my beliefs, but they are all I have and they are my best calculated hypothesis on “Life, Love & Everything In Between” –Richard Peacock
